![]() ![]() Then you configure that router so that the Gateway sends all the unsolicited traffic directly to the Router, which is instructed by UPnP how to forward the traffic. If your browser asks to save it, save it for the future just in case. But AT&T doesn't support UPnP (it's a security issue), so to use UPnP, you'll have to install another router. It will ask for your access code, it is on your modem/router. UPnP sort of works around that by establishing different ports and opening the firewall for them. The process of opening ports in your Arris BGW210-700 router may seem daunting. Click the Firewall tab at the top of the screen. Find the Port Forwarding section in your Arris BGW210-700 router. Enter the port (s) you wish to open for Global Port Range. Go ahead and access your Arris BGW210-700 router. Enter the name for the application or device in Service Name. If your application isnt in the list, or you are setting up port forwarding for a device: Select Custom Services. There's no way to give it two (or more) answers to the question "where do I send traffic for port x?" From the Service drop-down, select the application for port forwarding. So, using just the port, the Gateway has to direct the traffic to the inside device. With NAT, the destination IP for all packets are the same, the single public IP address. Unless there's an existing conversation, the source IP is useless. When a IP packet arrives from the Internet, the three pieces of addressing information are the source IP, the destination IP and the port. ![]() When your selections display in Hosted Applications, select Save. This seems like a serious issue considering there can be multiple devices on one network that are using the same ports. From the Needed by Device drop-down, select the device name or IP address of the device to open the port.Your new applications or devices will display in the Applications list. When all applications or devices have been added, select Return to NAT/Gaming.Repeat as needed for additional applications and devices. Select the appropriate Protocol from the drop-down for the application or device you are adding. In Base Host Port, enter the port number used for the first Global Port Range section. In this case the port number should be the same in the Global Port Range fields. It is recommended to create a separate service entry for each port as opposed to using a port range. Connect Plex and other devices to your router. Connect the new router to port 1 on AT&T router. Enter the port(s) you wish to open for Global Port Range. It is not a nightmare to run another router behind their gateway and I would recommend doing it anyway.Enter the name for the application or device in Service Name.If your application isn't in the list, or you are setting up port forwarding for a device: The set up instruction outlined below is an example of port forwarding using one of AT&Ts Router. ![]() From the Service drop-down, select the application for port forwarding. ![]() Then, you can continue with the steps in this solution.
